This University Project was to design a special edition book cover/dust jacket. I chose The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern as it sounded like a really interesting concept. I was inspired by an ambigram I found, which gave me the idea to illustrate the tents so that the circle could spin, and you can view the tents at night, or in the day, as time of day (or night) plays a big part in the book. I created a box as I felt it would add to the special edition theme, and used a ribbon to help the book out of the box and chose red to link to the colours in the story. I also added scratchcards, which would be given out with each book - these can be scratched off to reveal prizes.
